The V PASS App: Access Control At Your Fingertips

V PASS is a visitor management system that uses technology to record, monitor and manage visitors who are visiting a personal or business property. It offers reporting, keypads, cloud-connected hardware controllers and a mobile application. Let’s take a look at how to install and use the V PASS app.

The V PASS app

The V Pass Visitors Management is a highly configurable app that offers many advantages, including booking visitors, a messaging chat tool and a panic button. It’s also very easy to set up and use.

Setup process

In order to set the V PASS app up on your phone, visit the App Store if you have an iPhone or the Play Store if you have an Android. Search for “V PASS VMS” or download the app as supplied by your Homeowners Association. There may be some pop-ups that, for example, request your permission to allow notifications, which are advised but optional. The app will request you to register your cell phone number. An OTP will then be sent via SMS to confirm your registration. Simple, right?

Booking visitors

To pre-book a visitor, you just type in the cellphone number of the visitor or select a contact from your address book to send them a visitor booking. The app makes it possible to book between 5 to 10 people from your address book and send each person an individual booking request in one easy process.

If it’s a future booking then you can choose to display a calendar and select the date. For deliveries or collections with limited driver contact information, you simply provide the information that you do have, e.g. courier company name.

For regular visitors, you can assign them a regular visitor schedule for a period of time and they just present identification instead of needing a PIN to gain access.

Messaging

The V PASS app has an inbox split into four categories: All, Courtesy, General and Promotions. Examples of messages that are received include notifications of visitors entering and exiting the estate, panic messages, support tickets logged and any homeowners association communication.

Panic

The SOS panic button on the V PASS app can make a huge difference in critical situations. By pressing and holding the button down, you will get the help that you need. The SOS function also provides GPS safety guidance in unknown settings.
