Gallagher T-Series Readers

The Gallagher T-Series Reader incorporating its Terminal suite offers contactless card readers for access control management, a vital component of its security integration platform.

With four T-Series Reader models, T20, T12, T11 and the T10, to choose from, key features across this series include, inter alia, a high speed RS485 protocol, HBUS, which offers an astonishing access response time of 200 milliseconds and an unparalleled reader security through IT grade authentication and encryption between the reader and controller with HBUS.

The Readers are provided with support for multiple card technologies including the Mifare DESFire EV1, Plus and Classic, as well as 125 kHz proximity technology for the T20, T12 and T11 multi-technology readers only.

To these, add reader durability and water–dust protection coupled with environmentally friendly–RoHS compliance designed for minimal power consumption.

These readers are also compatible with previous versions through the Cardax IV enabled Gallagher Controller and GBUS URI hardware. Furthermore, Gallagher provides support for custom site encryption keys. The heartbeat monitoring feature ensures reader status is monitored in real time.

All Gallagher’s Readers come with an extensive range of mounting and protection accessories. The T10, T11 & T12 encompasses an IP68 environmental protection and IK07 for impact protection coupled with a contemporary design – classic black and white–with both mullion and flush box mounting.

For sensitive environments, where visual or audible indications may cause distraction, configurable illumination and sound is provided. All of this comes with a lifetime warranty.

Gallagher’s T20 Terminal, the crown piece in the series, provides additional functions including a contemporary, intuitive user interface with a 3.5″ colour LED screen and large backlit keys. It has clear display icons for key access control tasks, a superior ingress, IP66 environmental protection and IK09 for impact protection.

An added feature is a card only and card plus PIN access modes—including duress access support. The T20 boasts dual cardholder authentication with a terminal based access mode selection, door alarm and zone arming–disarming.

The Gallagher HBUS reader protocol proffers additional facilities such as the Enforce cardholder compliance for entry regulations via a competency message display. The supporting software is entirely upgradeable to ensure the system is in synch with the latest technological developments with the capacity to execute on-site automatic software updates encompassing multiple language support with integrated rear tamper.

The T-Series has an array of impressive accessories. Reader Protective Covers ensures protection from vandalism. Be warned though –mounting the Reader on metal surfaces may diminish the read range. Gallagher’s solution is to provide Spacers that create a gap between the reader and the mounting surface, permitting installation on metal surfaces whilst retaining a credible read range.

Concerned about holes left by previously installed readers – no problem– Dress Plates will cover these, ensuring a clean surface for upgrading reader and terminal hardware. Rimmed casings– bezels– are available in a selection of colours to harmonise one’s décor.
